In case of fire:

Call 911 for major problems

  1. Call 911 and give address of fire. Be sure you know your address.
  2. Notify neighbors to move cars, trailers, etc off the road for fire truck access
  3. Designate someone to flag fire truck at Warren Wagon Road

Important tips:

  • Be sure your house numbers are clearly visible from the road
  • Post your address in a prominent place in your cabin for guests/renters
  • Remember: It is illegal to burn trash outside. This is not just an Association rule — it is the law.

There has been some confusion in the past about the actual names of some of our roads. Sharlie Lane is the name of much of the roadway in our association, but there are several other instances of Sharlie Lane between our neighborhood and Shore Lodge.

An easy way to avoid confusing others is to direct them to turn on Sylvan Creek Road. Note that there is also a Sylvan Beach Road prior to the Sylvan Creek turn off. It is helpful to mention that.

The roads that exit Warren Wagon Road just prior to our roads are Grouse Way and Old Sharlie Lane. See the map at the bottom of this page.

Drinking the Water

By order of the state regulators of the Department of Health and Welfare, we are required to officially notify each member of our association to boil the water from the Sylvan Beach water system before using it for domestic purposes.

The Sylvan Beach water system draws water from the reservoir up the mountain a few hundred yards on the other side of Warren Wagon Road. Most long-time residents have made the hike to the reservoir many times and can easily see that it is an open pond.

The only treatment the water receives between the reservoir and the tap in your kitchen is the natural cleansing that occurs when water flows rapidly over a distance. Often, that is sufficient. Sometimes it isn't. The only way to be sure the water from your tap is uncontaminated is to boil it.

The same rule applies to water drawn from the lake.

Garbage Pick Up and Rules

Each cabin is allowed three bags or cans of household garbage per week. For pickup of extra trash, furniture, etc, call Lakeshore Disposal at 208-634-7176 for a special pickup at your own expense.

Please do not overload can with heavy trash. This is not the big city where large trucks use powerful hydraulic systems to life and empty the cans. We have one guy manually picking up the cans and emptying them. We don't want to break him.

Depending on the weather, trash pickup and water system are available from mid-May to mid-October. To report a problem with the Sylvan Beach water system, call Mike Conner at 208-634-8864.
